Five for Friday!!! I need a weekend

Happy Friday!! So happy to have a weekend AND the Olympics are on!! I am a huge Olympics nerd! :-)  I'm celebrating Friday in my usual fashion- linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for:

We collected facts about polar bears this week and then wrote an all about book using those facts.  They did such a great job! Just need a little more work on the table on contents.

Not gonna lie, I was a grump for the first 1/2 of the week! But I have since cheered up and had a great time the last 2 days.  Had to share this cute little story- these two boys were building with blocks this afternoon at play time and were very excited to tell me about what they built. So I asked what would happen if an earthquake came and then shook the table until their buildings fell down and they LAUGHED! So funny.  This is the rebuild:

This was one of the lit centers we did this week.  They somehow got the crazy idea that it was a coloring center.  Just coloring... Really guys??  SO we had a redo that included them being instructed on the correct way to complete the center.

Guided Reading has been going really well lately! So happy about this!  This is from my Winter Reader Pack.  I was using it with my kids who are learning level B.  They all wrote a sentence about what they do in the winter:
In winter I build a snowman.

In winter I wear a big cot.
In winter I play in the snow.

I'm so embarrassed of this but I figure if I post this picture I can post an after picture as well! Here is my mess that I need to clean up:

YIKES!  Here's to hoping I can clean up my mess!

Jump back over to Doodle Bugs Teaching for more Friday fun!  Happy weekend!

  1. I love #4...isn't it amazing how they learn to write like that in just a few months?! One of the most amazing things about kindergarten that is sometimes too easy to overlook.
