This week was all about apples! We had a GREAT time!
Did an apple taste test on Tuesday. We tasted red, yellow, and green apples and then graphed our favorite! Strange picture- some of my kids would not eat the skin! Weirdos.
We learned about the life cycle of an apple and made a life cycle chart. My kids are really good at cutting this year- pretty amazing!
We cut up an apple to have a look inside!! We used this Apples and Pumpkins Unit by Kelly's Classroom to record what we found:
APPLESAUCE!!! On Thursday we made applesauce!!
It smelled so amazing in our room! My AP even mentioned the yummy smell :-) Here is the finished product:
We ate some at the end of the day to try it warm and then we ate it today to try it cold. I got the idea and recipe from A Day in First Grade- you can find it here!
And number 6!!!
I used all this glorious appleness to decorate the bulletin board outside my room :-)
Have a great weekend friends! And don't forget to hop back to Doodle Bugs for more fun!
Hi Heather!
ReplyDeleteI love your apple post. I just finished my week of apples as well! We also did the apple tasting and the 10 Apples Up On Top activity. We didn't get to make applesauce this year because of time...half-day K :( Yours looked so yummy! I am so glad I found your blog today!
